My dream for my Grand Daughter; the dream is she not be judge by the color of her skin and texture of her hair because her parents are Black and German
My dream is for her never to hear the words “your hair is good.” For what the hell is good hair? “Well you are mixed.” What is she mixed with Flour, sugar, salt eggs? No; she was born of two people that loved each other and decided to have a child.
Black women spend an average of a TRILLION DOLLARS ON HAIR PRODUCTS ALONE but own only less than 10% of the industry. Black Women’s Net Worth is $1.00.
Don’t get me wrong I want my sisters to get their hair “DID” if they want. Wear it nature if you want-YOUR BUSINESS” But why do we select to measure others up to what somebody else has told us what beautiful is.
While we are talking about Blue Ivy, Pam Oliver and Gabby Douglas’s hair-these ladies they have made great strives (except Blue Ivy) walking the Red Carpet, meeting Presidents/First Ladies and making that money and set for life.
So I Got a Dream Too. Stop Beating Each Other Up Over Hair.
